Supporting vets to implement risk-based prescribing
The What’s The Risk? competition from Boehringer Ingelheim generated over one thousand entries from veterinary professionals across the UK, all taking part for a chance to win and learn about the importance of assessing a dog’s individual risk of parasites.
The competition marked the launch of the What’s The Risk? Hub, raising awareness of the potential risk parasites pose to dogs and supporting the responsible use of parasiticides. One of the resources available on the What’s The Risk? Hub is Parassess, a free online easy-to-use parasite risk checker tool for owners and practices, helping vets to recommend the right parasite protection for each individual dog based on their lifestyle and associated risk. The prize consisted of an Apple bundle for the winner plus an iPad for the practice, to help them implement risk-based parasiticide prescribing.
The lucky prize winner was Katie, a veterinary surgeon from Porchester Vets, who received an Apple bundle to personalise her own me time, and an iPad for her practice.
“It was such a shock to be told I had won the prize through Boehringer Ingelheim – even after some confusion with two Katie(s) at work and trying to work out which of us had managed to win the competition! The prizes are amazing – an Apple Watch, AirPods and an iPad plus an iPad for the practice, which has already been invaluable to all staff members. Huge thank you to Boehringer Ingelheim and the lovely Lee-Ann for delivering the prizes in person!” says Katie.
Boehringer Ingelheim is delighted with how many people entered the competition. Hope Oakley, associate brand manager, said, “It’s great to see such high levels of engagement with the What’s The Risk? Hub and the supporting tools, such as Parassess, to help with risk-based parasiticide prescribing.
We were pleased to be able to award this prize package to both Katie and Porchester Vets and are thrilled they can both benefit from this.”
