Church Walk Vets Moves To New Larger Practice In Barrow-in-Furness

Church Walk Vets has moved to a new property in Barrow-in-Furness in order to increase the number of clients it serves

CVS’ has invested over £1 million to relocate, upgrade and grow its Church Walk Vets practice on the outskirts of Barrow-in-Furness.

The surgery has been moved one mile west from Crellin Street to a brand new 3,500 square foot purpose-built building on the Hollywood Retail Park in the west of Barrow. This new property will enable the practice to increase the number of clients it serves and significantly expand the range of clinical services it offers to pets in the locality.

Church Walk Vets’ new modern building is all on one level and will house the latest veterinary facilities and equipment. Four consulting rooms have been installed to offer a greater number of appointments, along with a spacious operating theatre with the latest veterinary equipment. The site also hosts a dental suite, digital x-ray facilities, in-house laboratory and isolation ward for very sick animals.

To keep stress to a minimum for patients, the practice has a spacious reception area with separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, in addition to separate dog and cat hospital wards. New walk-in kennels have also been built for larger dog breeds. There is also be a dog exercise area.

The new practice is prominently located in Hollywood Park on Hindpool Road which is on multiple public transport routes. It has its own separate entrance to provide easy access and ample parking for clients and animal patients. Full disabled access has also been built.

To staff Church Walk Vets’ new practice, two new vets have been recruited, who will collectively offer an increased range of veterinary services. They will join other vets, veterinary nurses and receptionists in the 21-strong team, who will look after the practice’s increased number of clients and their pets.

Lauren Milby, practice director at Church Walk Vets, said: “We had outgrown our existing practice on Crellin Street. We needed a larger practice to continue to offer the highest level of service and quality of animal care that we are accustomed to. So this is an exciting move for us. Hollywood Park is a fantastic new site with a superb range of facilities. It’ll mean that we’ll be able to look after many patients right there and it’ll enable us to grow the number of patients we see.”

The old Church Walk Practice is based on Crellin Street in Barrow-in-Furness. The new site will work closely and complement the range of services already offered by Church Walk Vets on St Mary’s Place in Ulverston.
