SPVS Veterinary Business Excellence Awards, an initiative aimed at celebrating and honouring exemplary veterinary practices, has unveiled its shortlist of finalists after a highly competitive selection process.
These awards are part of the SPVS commitment to fostering excellence, growth, and leadership within the veterinary community, as defined by their Thriving in Practice learning hub.
The awards are being presented across four distinctive categories, each reflecting a vital aspect of a successful veterinary practice:
- Leadership skills: recognising practices that exhibit visionary leadership, strategic planning, effective communication, and the ability to inspire and motivate their teams
- Team dynamics: celebrating practices that have a culture of collaborative teamwork, conflict resolution, and nurturing a supportive and inclusive work environment
- Self development: honouring practices that prioritise continuous learning, professional growth, adaptability, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance
- Management: acknowledging practices that excel in resource management, financial stewardship, client relationships, and innovative practice development
After a thorough review of numerous impressive entries, the SPVS Board members have selected a shortlist of three practices in each Veterinary Business Excellence Awards category:
- Leadership: Leeds Colton Vets for Pets, Village Vets Formby and Crosby and Westpoint Farm Vets (Chelmsford)
- Management: Stellar Vets Littlehampton, Leeds Colton Vets for Pets and Manchester Cat Clinic
- Self development: Henlow Veterinary Centre Ltd, Vets for Pets Basildon and Village Vets Formby and Crosby
- Team dynamics: Holly House Vets, Smart Vet T/A Pet People and Village Vets Formby and Crosby
Videos from all shortlisted practices are available on the website, where SPVS members are encouraged to watch them and cast their votes for a winner in each category.
The votes will then be aggregated and reviewed by a panel of judges consisting of key veterinary influencers: Cat Henstridge @cat_the_vet, Robyn Lowe @robynlowervn and Emily Collins Wingate @thenewgradfarmvet, plus SPVS president Ryan Davis and junior vice president Silvia Janska, who will choose an overall winner.
The four category winners will win full day plus evening tickets to SPVS Congress 2024 on Thursday 25 January 2024 for three team members, plus overnight accommodation, at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
The overall winner of the SPVS Veterinary Business Excellence Awards will be announced at the opening ceremony.
