Vanessa Woolhead joins Cave

Somerset-based animal hospital Cave Veterinary Specialists has further strengthened its clinical team with the addition of internal medicine specialist Vanessa Woolhead

Vanessa Woolhead, an American diplomate in small animal internal medicine, has joined Linnaeus-owned Cave Veterinary Specialists, near Wellington.

Vanessa joins Cave after previously working at fellow Linnaeus practice Eastcott Veterinary Referrals, in Swindon.

Vanessa completed a residency in internal medicine at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) to gain her status as a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and has a special interest in endocrinology, gastroenterology and immunology.

She said: “Cave has an excellent reputation for outstanding provision of referral services in the South West and I am delighted to be joining the team. Having worked for a fellow Linnaeus practice at Eastcott, I know Cave will be a practice with excellent values and a commitment to investing in high-quality care.”

Cave’s hospital director Claire Lawrence said: “We have seen a marked increase in demand for our services and growing the team with high-quality clinicians is a strong focus for us. It’s with this in mind that I’m delighted to welcome Vanessa Woolhead to bolster our already-impressive offerings in internal medicine.”

Cave offers comprehensive, specialist-led services in anaesthesia, cardiology, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology and neurosurgery, oncology, orthopaedic surgery and soft tissue surgery.
