A message to our learning community After much consideration, we’ve made the decision to close the Improve Veterinary Practice platform on 13 January 2026. Improve Veterinary Practice was built to support vets and nurses at every stage of their career, and while this chapter is ending, a new one is starting at Improve Veterinary Education. We couldn’t be more grateful for the community you’ve helped us build and hope to see you on this exciting next step. Find out more

NOAH supports StreetVet

The National Office of Animal Health (NOAH) have chosen to support StreetVet as its charity of the year for 2022

In 2022, the National Office of Animal Health (NOAH) will be supporting StreetVet as its charity of the year.

StreetVet delivers free essential veterinary care and services to people experiencing homelessness in a number of locations around the UK. Led by vets, they provide free veterinary care to homeless people’s animals and have helped over 1,200 dogs and over 100 cats since their inception in 2016.

NOAH Chief Executive Dawn Howard explained: “We have seen how much people are supported by the relationship they have with their animals, and this is particularly true for many people living on the streets.

“The health and welfare of their animal companions is often a major priority for them, and the work of StreetVet means these animals can access the veterinary care they need and deserve. To know their best friend can be kept healthy not only helps the animal, but also must provide reassurance for the owner too.

“One of the ways we will be supporting is via a donation from sales of the 2022 NOAH Compendium book, which is the last edition to be published as a hard copy.

“We would like to thank the businesses, veterinary practices and others that continue to buy our book in what is still a challenging year and enabled us to support the work of this excellent charity.”

Jade Statt who is the co-founder, clinical director and brand ambassador for StreetVet said: “StreetVet are delighted to have been selected by NOAH as their charity of the year.

“StreetVet is the product of collaboration and we are only able to deliver our services because of the immense support we have received from the profession. Thank you to NOAH for helping us raise awareness and vital funds “
