Last chance to vote in 2022 Petplan Veterinary Awards

Don’t miss out voting for your local practice or veterinary professional for the 2022 Petplan Veterinary Awards, with the deadline on 10 January 2022

Did you know Petplan, the UK’s number one pet insurance provider, is also the insurer most trusted by vets? In homage to this intrinsic relationship between pets and vets, Petplan is once again bringing you the 2022 Petplan Veterinary Awards, in recognition of the remarkable work carried out by some of the best veterinary professionals in the country, and to say thank you at a time when our animal companions have meant more to us than ever.

Nominations are coming in and thick and fast. To make sure your local practice or veterinary professional is recognised for the tremendous work and care they give us and our companions each year, make sure to visit the PetPlan website before nominations close on 10 January 2022.

The Petplan Veterinary Awards have been widely celebrated for over two decades, with this year’s offering marking the awards’ 23rd anniversary. Often referred to as the “Oscars” of the veterinary industry, this prestigious event celebrates excellence within the veterinary profession and recognises those who inspire their clients and colleagues with their hard work and dedication.

Last year Petplan received over 31,000 nominations across the five award categories: Practice of the Year, Vet of the Year, Vet Nurse of the Year, Practice Manager of the Year and Practice Support Staff of the Year.

The Veterinary Awards are judged by an independent panel made up of leading people from the veterinary industry including presidents of the veterinary and nursing associations and previous winners of the awards. From the thousands of nominations, the judges have a very difficult task to narrow down the field of nominations to just three finalists in each category. The finalists are all invited to attend the Veterinary Awards ceremony, where the winners are announced.

The judges specifically look for clear examples of a variety of factors, from exceptional levels of animal care to building and sustaining great relationships with both colleagues and pet owners, as well as going above and beyond the call of duty.

James Barnes, head of sales and partnerships at Petplan, commented: “The Petplan Veterinary Awards provide the perfect opportunity to say thank you for the exceptional work carried out by members of the veterinary profession, whatever their field and wherever they’re based. The Petplan Vet Awards provide a great opportunity for both clients and colleagues to recognise the dedication and talent of veterinary professionals, teams and practices, right across the UK and say a particular thank you to those who have kept up the exceptional level of care even in the midst of a global crisis.

“For over two decades we’ve been recognising the brilliant work of the UK’s veterinary professionals. Every year the quality of entries is incredibly high but we know that over the past eighteen months the profession really went the extra mile to take care of the nation’s pets. The judges are likely to have the toughest decision on their hands to date, regarding who to shortlist and award among the many hugely deserving practitioners.”

Do you know a particularly virtuous vet, noble nurse or relentless receptionist? To nominate a colleague or your practice, visit the awards page on the Petplan website before nominations close on 10 January 2022.
