Davies Veterinary Specialists (Davies) has been announced as the winner of the #VNAM2022 video competition run by the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) during Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month (VNAM) in May.
The small animal referral practice near Hitchin in Hertfordshire, worked with a talented team at Perspective Studios, a video production company based in Bedfordshire, to produce an inspirational video capturing the work and the passion of their dedicated veterinary nursing team. It scooped first prize in the countrywide competition to win the team a £100 Love2Shop voucher plus two, one-day BVNA Congress virtual tickets.
Veterinary Nurses are the beating heart of every veterinary practice and Davies’ video aimed at really bringing to life how much their nurses love their jobs. The video has been viewed over 132,000 times on social media and continues to be liked and shared throughout the world.
VNAM was originally started by the BVNA in 2005 as National VN Day campaign. Since 2012 the campaign has taken place throughout the month of May every year. The purpose of VNAM is to spread the word to the veterinary profession and pet owners, about the importance of the role of the veterinary nurse in practice, and the provision of responsible pet care to the general public.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have won this competition,” said Head of Nursing Services, Lillian Twigg. “It was very much a team effort making the video and we all spoke from the heart about why we love being a part of this incredible profession. We hope it will inspire more people to choose vet nursing as their career, to ensure we have a constant flow of expertise, care and compassion for pets of the future.”
BVNA President Alex Taylor said: “VNAM 2022 has been a huge success and I would like to congratulate everyone who took part. The winning video from Davies Veterinary Specialists was brilliant because it captured the commitment, skills, and professionalism of the veterinary nurse in such a way that it made us all feel very proud to be part of such a wonderful profession. Well done to all of those involved and thank you for taking the time to put together such a touching and inspirational video.”
