Vet nurses who are looking for a career move are invited to check in to Davies Veterinary Specialists’ (Davies) Open Day for Vet Nurses on 29 January 2022 at the referral practice’s premises near Hitchin in Hertfordshire.
With more than 30 nurses already signed up to the event, it’s shaping up to be a great networking and social opportunity, as well as a relaxed day learning more about what it’s like to nurse at one of the UK’s largest and most diverse small animal veterinary referral centres.
“You’ll have a very informal opportunity to meet and chat with our team of nurses and clinicians, take a tour of our hospital and find out more about the different nursing roles available at Davies,” said Lillian Twigg, Davies’ head of nursing services. “We will be rounding off the day with a good lunch and a chance for some more relaxed conversation with the team.”
Open day itinerary
- 9am arrival and refreshments
- 9.30am group tours of the hospital
- 10am meet our nursing team including a Q&A session on working at Davies
- 11am meet our clinicians including a Q&A on some cases
- 12pm opportunities for on-the-spot interviews
- 12 to 2pm lunch and an informal chat with the team
Members of the Davies nursing team are looking forward to meeting the visitors on the Davies Veterinary Specialists’ Open Day and sharing their experiences of working for Davies.
Davies’ Theatre Supervisor Nichole Neate said: “The people at Davies are great, especially when everybody involved pulls together in an emergency to get a case through theatre. We are continually learning new things through the interesting and varied cases we see.”
Davies’ Dispensary Nurse Gillian Washington said: “When I first joined back in 2006, I was on the general nursing rota which meant I have worked in all areas of the practice. I progressed to working solely in dispensary three years later.
“I am so happy doing a job I love. Working at Davies you are surrounded by an amazing team who are all so supportive.”
