CPD for Official Veterinarians

Tickets are now on sale for the UK’s only event dedicated to the continuing professional development (CPD) needs of Official Veterinarians

Tickets are now on sale for the OV Conference Online 2022, which will take place from 27 to 29 September. The OV Conference is the UK’s only event dedicated to the continuing professional development (CPD) needs of Official Veterinarians, and is organised by Improve International, in association with the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).

Acting on feedback from last year’s delegates, Improve International has streamlined the registration and ticket-booking process for 2022. Delegates can now register and pay on the Conference platform itself and will then have immediate access to content as the schedule is updated leading up to the event.

This year’s presentations feature topics such as notifiable diseases and surveillance programmes, the completion of AHCs, and the export of animal products. For the latter, Andrew Iveson and John Bourne from Amivet will examine the current problems faced by OVs when completing export health certification for animal products, followed by a look at some case studies.

In addition, a number of sessions on this year’s programme focus on wellbeing, and aim to help OVs with some of the less clinical aspects of the role. Brian Faulkner, director of Colourful CPD, will look at understanding self-doubt and developing self-confidence, whilst Olivia Ogińska, founder of Vet Gone Real, will consider a challenge many OVs regularly face in practice: managing difficult conversations.

By popular demand, panel discussions will once again feature on each of the three days. Expert speakers will take questions on different topics – pet exports and notifiable diseases, TB, product exports – moderated by returning Conference Chair, Andrew Carrington BVSc MRCVS.

This year’s Conference aims to build on the success of the 2021 event, for which delegate feedback was overwhelmingly positive:

“There was a thoroughly balanced programme of interesting topics, well delivered.”

“Wide range of topical and pertinent subjects covered – very informative.”

“Very well presented and all tech worked well. Excellent quality of speakers.”

“This conference has been wonderful, I love that all of the webinars are available to us to view afterwards and that all of our questions have been answered. Thank you.”

“Still the go to conference for OVs!”

Tickets for the OV Conference Online 2022 cost £180 (including VAT) and will give delegates access to every session across each of the three days. They can be bought online.

Students and delegates on the One Health Capacity Building courses should contact the OV Conference team for further information and a discount code.
