Animal Trust’s new surgery in Rhyl got off to a flying start when it opened its doors for business on Monday 25 April, with a packed diary of patients for the veterinary team to see.
Aimed at providing residents of the North Wales coastline with the best access to good veterinary care, the Rhyl surgery is Animal Trust’s second surgery in Wales and the tenth surgery in its network of hospitals, with existing locations in Wrexham, Yorkshire and the north of England.
Animal Trust purchased the former Aldi site on Wellington Road in Rhyl and the property has undergone a radical transformation in time for opening. The 6,000 square foot veterinary surgery now comprises nine consultation rooms and four theatres and is staffed by a highly experienced team of three vets, three nurses, two Client Service Advisors and a Practice Manager. The new Rhyl surgery will provide a full range of veterinary services including consultations, surgery, dental care, X-rays and ultrasound.
Established in 2012 by founder and CEO Owen Monie, Animal Trust now employs more than 300 vets and care staff across the UK. He commented: “Our ethos has always been that every animal deserves access to good, affordable veterinary care whenever they need it. We’re delighted to be able to extend our services to the residents of Rhyl and the North Wales coastline and we’re looking forward to welcoming clients to our new surgery.”
New client Jenny brought her little kitten Spot for a check-up and injections on opening day. She commented: “I was looking for a local vet for Spot, so when I saw Animal Trust was opening in Rhyl, I decided to register him immediately. All the reviews about other Animal Trust surgeries were great and the prices were affordable, both of which are important to me.
“The staff were really helpful and knowledgeable, and provided me with lots of information and advice about how to care for my kitten. The surgery itself looks amazing, with great facilities for pet care,” she added.
