VetSkill delivers over 100 OSCEs

86 students were able to proceed to the final step in their professional journey to become an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse

VetSkill is delighted to announce the successful delivery of its first round of 118 OSCE’s in November, resulting in 86 students being able to proceed to the final step in their professional journey to become an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse.

Over the weekend of the 28 and 29 November VetSkill held OSCE’s in Leeds and Cambridgeshire for 31 apprentices undertaking their end point assessments and 87 City and Guilds Diploma student veterinary nurses. The pass rate for apprentices was 84 percent and for Diploma students it was 69 percent, making the overall pass rate 72 percent.

Following the successful completion of the RCVS quality assurance processes, the results were published on time by VetSkill, on 18 December.

Greg Warman Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of VetSkill said “I am delighted by this first round of VetSkill OSCE’s being successfully completed during these particularly challenging times”. He added ”It would not have been possible without the dedication of the VetSkill team of examiners and support staff lead by VetSkill’s Qualification Manager, Sam Double.”

During 2021, VetSkill has scheduled the following OSCE dates. Student veterinary nurses being trained using the apprenticeship standard in veterinary nursing will be invited to choose an OSCE date once they have passed through the apprenticeship gateway and have passed their professional discussion.
