Puppy owners across the world join Berkshire trainer for free Facebook Live training sessions

Bitesize training goes down a storm with people who purchased puppies during the global pandemic prompting special 40-minute live

Di Martin, owner of Berkshire-based Click-2-Heel, is rapidly becoming the nation’s favourite dog trainer after she launched free Facebook Live puppy training sessions aimed at the thousands of people who purchased puppies during the global pandemic.

Held across a three-week period from 1 to 19 February, the daily bitesize puppy training classes (#PuppyTrainingWithDi), which started at 12.15pm and were 15-minutes long, have gone down a storm with puppy / dog owners across the world. In addition, Di has supplemented the live sessions with pre-recorded training videos and Q and As.

Following the campaign’s success, Di has announced an extended 40-minute facebook live on 5 March at 7pm where she will demonstrate a typical training session with one of her puppies. People will also be able to ask questions via live video link.

In conjunction with the Facebook Live initiative, Di is offering the chance to win lifetime access to her popular Online Puppy Training course. People are being asked to post short videos on Click-2-Heel’s Facebook page showing their training progress together with a sentence explaining how the sessions have been of benefit and why they would like to win the course. Entries close on 26 February.

Di says: “Although I’m used to competing in dog sports in front of large crowds and training groups both face-to-face and now over Zoom, this was my first experience of live streaming. I was nervous before the first session but soon relaxed into it especially when I started to see the traction and amazing comments from people watching. It has given owners of puppies and older dogs an opportunity to share their experiences, both good and bad.

“As it became increasingly obvious that there was a significant demand for progressive yet relatable online puppy training, we decided to do an extended Facebook live on 5 March. The team at Click-2-Heel has been truly thrilled at the positive response and if we’ve been able to stop one puppy from being abandoned or surrendered to a rescue centre then it has all been worth it. It is highly likely we will do more live puppy / dog training initiatives going forward.”

During the three-week “Puppy Training With Di” campaign, Di covered crate training, confidence building, implementing a consistent communication process, basic handling, kitchen manners, leadwork and recall.

Some of the comments about Di Martin’s Facebook Lives include:

“Thank you so much Di, excellent information and advice”

“Brilliant, as ever”

“Great session Di, thanks”

“Thanks Di, great live again!

“Hey, these lives have been fantastic, Di”

“Loving these lives. Thank you”

“Great instruction on toy play”

“Thank you Di. I find your videos so helpful”

In 2019, Di launched an Online Puppy Training Course which took a total of 18 months to develop. Designed to be a complete guide to good management practices and essential early learning, the well proven course helps owners to develop a relationship with their dogs based on trust and understanding.
