RCVS Knowledge seeks volunteers for two new trustee roles

Applications open until Monday 9 August for new RCVS Knowledge trustee toles in finance, digital and communications

Do you want to support the strategic development of a fast-growing, respected charity? Are you keen to help improve the care animals receive? Then apply to be a Trustee for RCVS Knowledge!

RCVS Knowledge is looking to fill two new Trustees positions, to expand the range of Trustee skills and consolidate existing skills in an exciting period of growth. The charity – whose mission is to advance the quality of veterinary care for the benefit of animals, the public and society – provides practical tools, resources and education to the veterinary professions.

RCVS Knowledge is currently governed by a board of 11 Trustees and Amanda Boag was elected chair of the board in 2020. They are seeking driven individuals to help expand the charity’s impact and influence in two new roles: “Digital and Communications Trustee” and “Lay Trustee (Finance)”. The Digital and Communications Trustee role will support the development and implementation of an integrated strategic digital and communications plan to advance brand identity of the organisation and increase its visibility and accessibility across a wider veterinary audience. The Lay Trustee (Finance) role will support the Treasurer in the overarching strategic management of the organisation’s financial resources.

Trustees are expected to contribute actively to the Board by giving strategic direction; helping shape overall policy; defining goals and setting targets; evaluating performance; ensuring the charity’s effective and efficient administration and financial stability.

Executive Director of RCVS Knowledge, Chris Gush, said: “This is a great opportunity to join the RCVS Knowledge board of trustees and help us develop and champion the advancement of veterinary care. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to contribute to the governance of the charity, focusing on finance, digital and communications. There is no need to have previous trustee experience as training and support will be provided.”

RCVS Knowledge are seeking a wide range of members of their board, and are looking to be representative of the diverse population of the veterinary professions. The posts are unremunerated, but reasonable expenses will be paid.

Applications are now open and will close on Monday 9 August. More information about the available roles and how to apply can be found on RCVS Knowledge’s website.
