Maynooth Animal Hospital revamped

A leading Irish veterinary group has announced the opening of its recently revamped and state-of-the-art practice in County Kildare, Maynooth Animal Hospital

Following a major cash injection by new owners Linnaeus, My Vet practice Maynooth Animal Hospital has been revamped and has now doubled in size and boasts a generous suite of hi-tech equipment and state-of-the-art consult rooms set to transform the level of care to pets in the region.

The refurbished premises at Maynooth Animal Hospital now offer a new operating theatre and a dedicated dental suite, compete with an array of 21st century monitoring equipment for patients under anaesthetic.

The practice has had an infusion of modern technology including digital patient records updated almost instantly, digital X-ray, ultrasound, dental X-ray, a laboratory and a climate-controlled hospital area that will not only further boost the high level of care provided but the speed at which diagnosis and treatment can be administered to patients.

Liam Moriarty, the co-founder of My Vet, which also has clinics in Firhouse and Lucan, County Dublin helped set up the practice with college friend John Twomey back in 2012 when an increasing number of clients from Maynooth were visiting their practice in Lucan.

Liam said: “It is incredible to see that more than a decade on, we have been able to double in size and offer pet owners in the area an even higher standard of animal care. Everyone at the practice has always been incredibly passionate about animal welfare and this new and improved facility will only help us go that extra mile for our patients.”

The new surgery has been kitted out with safety measures such as non-slip floors, a designated isolation area and well-ventilated rooms that will limit the spread of infections and help ensure a safe environment for pets and their owners.

Residents in the area will also benefit from a separate cat consult room and cat ward, allowing for stress-free vet visits for feline clients. Canine companions will also enjoy new and upgraded large walk-in kennels in the new dog ward.

Meanwhile, clients will have access to designated pet and owner parking spots outside Maynooth Animal Hospital, allowing them a stress-free visit during consultations.

Liam added: “We are fully aware that consultations can be very stressful for both pets and their owners, so the new clinic has been designed to be more patient-focused and user-friendly and we are confident pet owners will reap the rewards very quickly.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone into our new and improved facility and hope that our new and improved facility offers you a safe refuge when your beloved pets are ill.”
