CVS Group, one of the leading integrated veterinary service providers in the UK, the Netherlands and the Republic of Ireland, confirms it is expanding the presence of its equine division in Somerset and Wiltshire with the creation of a new equine veterinary practice, Frome Equine Vets, which launched on Monday 4 October.
The new practice is a result of a collaboration between B&W Equine Vets in Bristol and Wessex Equine in Calne, Wiltshire, who will both continue to operate from their existing bases.
The creation of Frome Equine Vets will enable dedicated equine veterinary services to be offered to a greater number of horse owners in a wider area of Somerset and Wiltshire. It has clinic facilities at Badgers Cross Equestrian in Cloford, near Frome, together with specialist support provided by the clinical teams at the B&W Equine Hospital in Gloucestershire, Valley Equine Hospital in Lambourn and Endell Equine Hospital in Salisbury.
Alasdair Graham, BVMS, CertAVP(EM), MRCVS, has been appointed as clinical director of Frome Equine Vets and will be supported by Julian Wain, BVSc, CertAVP(ESO), MRCVS, of Wessex Equine and Hilary Franklin, BVM&S, CVA, CertIAVC, MRCVS.
CVS Equine Director Hattie Lawrence, commented: “The launch of Frome Equine Vets is a demonstration of how CVS Equine practices are working collaboratively to provide the best clinical care and meet the needs of our clients.
“The Frome area has been on the outer edge of the areas covered by B&W and Wessex and as such, the logical approach is to create a new practice to provide a more local service for horse owners in this area and facilitate expansion into Somerset and Wiltshire.
“Our primary aim is for Frome Equine Vets to provide first class equine healthcare and excellent customer service to our clients, with a personal touch.”
