BSAVA Virtual Congress accredited by Veterinary Council of Ireland

Four simultaneous live streams and more than 100 speakers will deliver 80+ live sessions in a format that blends clinical, practical and interactive content

BSAVA Congress (25-27 March 2021), one of the world’s largest events for the small animal veterinary sector, has been accredited by the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI). Accreditation is valid for the live event and amounts to a maximum of 25 CVE points per person over the three days.

“We are delighted that BSAVA Congress has been accredited by the VCI, giving Irish veterinary professionals access to our top quality CPD,” said BSAVA President Professor Ian Ramsey.

“Given that it is one of very few live veterinary events taking place this year it makes it a ‘must go to’ for high quality CPD,” he continued. “Over the three days we will host 24 half day modules each comprising three or four sessions interspersed with compelling addresses from three keynote speakers. Only live events where you can ask the lecturers questions can be accredited, so this is a unique opportunity to get the most out of the experts.”

Four simultaneous live streams and more than 100 speakers will deliver 80+ live sessions in a format that blends clinical, practical and interactive content. Many have relevant presentations woven in to make them suitable for the whole practice team from clinical directors to practice nurses and managers. BSAVA will also be providing practical resources such as client handouts for delegates to take back to their clinics to make it quicker and easier for delegates to share what they have learnt with their colleagues.

Delegates can get their virtual party fix at Congress too, with a variety of fun and wellbeing sessions; there will be a virtual disco, live music from Mark Walby, yoga and meditation, a charity run, baking, magic and mindreading and a quiz.

“It’s great news for Irish vets that BSAVA Congress has been accredited by the VCI,” said Dr James Ward of Cara Veterinary Group in Dublin. “The absence of live events this year has made it hard but being able to join BSAVA Virtual Congress is a breath of fresh air – personally I am looking forward to obtaining my 25 CVE points by attending the streams on liver disease, dermatology and the interactive cardiology sessions, as well as having some downtime fun.”

The VCI CVE approved course code is 20-21-007.

Prices for BSAVA Virtual Congress start at just £99 +VAT for BSAVA and FECAVA members (members of Veterinary Ireland Companion Animal Society are eligible for the FECAVA price). This early bird price expires on 8th March 2021.
