Over 600 delegates, exhibitors and speakers joined VMG and SPVS for their virtual Congress on 13-14 May, supported by Boehringer Ingelheim and Citation.
Living up to its reputation as Europe’s leading non-clinical veterinary conference, the event offered interesting and engaging speakers from within the veterinary practice and beyond, from the UK, Europe and across the Atlantic.
Attendees were spoilt for choice with five streams of live lectures over the 2 days, plus small-group interactive workshops. Popular themes for the event were moving forward from COVID, team building and coaching, and inclusion and diversity. All lectures were recorded and can be revisited by delegates via the event platform.
Attendees were also able to access the virtual exhibition where they could explore products and services, competitions and offers. Using the interactive event platform, they also took the opportunity to network with fellow attendees, and relax via the wellbeing hub.
Congress 2022 will take place at ICC Wales from 21-22 January 2022. Interest can be registered online.
Nick Lloyd, SPVS President said:
“I really enjoyed the lecture programme, particularly the European stream, and feel I’ve gained invaluable guidance on recovery in these challenging times. With all the sessions recorded, it’s great to be able to catch up on all those that couldn’t be attended live.
“Valuable time was also spent exploring the exhibition – catching up with existing contacts to hear their news, whilst making new connections with partners who are well placed to support us in 2021 and beyond.”
Richard Casey, VMG President added:
“The VMG-SPVS Virtual Congress was a fantastic opportunity to help reinforce our guiding principles of learning, sharing and growing. The diverse lecture programme and networking opportunities enabled a wide range of team members, from across of the veterinary world, to support one another in the promotion and development of 21st century leadership. We all know what great leadership looks and feels like but no one tells us actually how to deliver us. We’re making great progress but there’s still work to do!
“Am very much looking forward to continuing these conversations at Congress next year – join us at ICC Wales from 21-22 January 2022.”
