The Directory, which will live in the Fellowship section of the RCVS website, will help give members of the public and the profession a greater insight into who is in the Fellowship, as well as promoting the Fellowship as a learned society.
The RCVS Fellowship aims to advance veterinary standards by providing a resource of independent knowledge to benefit the veterinary profession and the public at large. The Fellowship attracts veterinary surgeons whose activities demonstrate excellence across the entire veterinary landscape and who have distinguished themselves on account of their ongoing commitment to using their experience and knowledge to enhance the profession further.
The RCVS is aiming to display a profile for all RCVS Fellows, including a brief biography, some additional information about areas of professional interest, field of work and positions held, and a recent photograph.
“We are delighted to be launching the Directory of Fellows as a way to showcase the work of Fellows and to promote how they are enriching public discourse about veterinary science,” says RCVS Director of Leadership and Innovation, Anthony Roberts.
“Our hope is that both members of the profession and members of the public who have an interest in veterinary medicine will reach out to Fellows, harnessing their expertise to further professional skills and invigorate a curiosity for innovation and the future of the professions. We also hope that the Directory will connect Fellows so that they can continue to work collaboratively to support opportunities to advance veterinary standards.
“We would be grateful to both recent and well-established Fellows to help in this endeavour by completing our online form, providing us with the details necessary to build their profile on the Directory.”
Fellows are invited to fill out their details ahead of Fellowship Day, so that they can be included in the Directory for the launch. An online form is available to Fellows via the “My Account” area on the RCVS website.
Fellows with further questions about the Directory can contact Oliver Glackin via email at fellowship@rcvs.org.uk if they require any further information.
