Paragon Veterinary Referrals in Wakefield, which is part of the Linnaeus Group, only opened in February 2018 but has already earned high praise from the RCVS after a recent visit by assessors from its Practice Standard Scheme (PSS).
The scheme is run by the RCVS to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care across the UK and lead assessor David Ashcroft delivered a ringing endorsement of the excellent team and first-class facilities at Paragon.
He said: “The premises are spectacular in design and appearance, creating an immediate impression of clinical excellence and quality patient care to both clients and visiting clinicians.
“The organisation levels required to ensure continuity of care in such a large establishment are always demanding, and this was being very well met by the separate nursing teams with leaders, everyone seeming to know their own roles and responsibilities to contribute to the overall success, alongside excellent record keeping and team communication.
“The quality of the clinical work being undertaken was easy to see. There was a very positive attitude to training and induction routines, as well as mental health and team welfare.
“It was a fascinating day and I was very pleased to have had the opportunity to visit and meet such a dedicated team.”
Paragon managing director Ian Monteith said: “This is fantastic feedback for us and a real tribute to the top-quality staff and the state-of-the-art facilities we have here.
“To be officially accredited by the RCVS is a great achievement, especially as we’re only just over one year old.
“The PSS is run by the profession, for the profession and we are thrilled at its comments and determined to maintain, and even improve, the high standards we have set ourselves in delivering exceptional care and facilities here at Paragon.”
