Are you proud of your practice marketing? Then why not showcase your hard work and enter the Practice Marketing Award for the Veterinary Marketing Association (VMA) Annual Awards? That’s the message from VMA Awards chair, Claire Edmunds, who believes there are lots of practices doing a fantastic job of marketing their business but might not realise the Award is for them!
Free to enter and kindly sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health, the Practice Marketing Award is open to all veterinary practices. Boehringer Ingelheim’s vet channel business head, Humphrey Grimmett BSc says the company is proud to support the VMA Practice Marketing Award. “It is important to recognise and reward the most innovative marketing of products and/or services by practices to their clients,” says Dr. Grimmett.
“The award will go to the veterinary practice that has demonstrated the most initiative and/or innovation in the marketing of its products or services during 2018,” says Claire.
Eligible entries for this award include advertising, direct mail, digital, electronic or social media activity or events that have been targeted at consumers of the practice’s products or services, for example, to clients, general public or farmers.
Claire believes that practices have often done a much better job of marketing than they think, so it’s well worth entering. Even if they don’t win, entering is great experience and the Annual Awards event provides an opportunity for great networking in the profession.
“With the changing landscape of the veterinary profession and increasing competition for business, marketing is becoming an ever more important component in practice success. We would therefore like to encourage as many practices as possible to enter the award,” adds Claire.
One of the current Practice Marketing Award winners is Pride Veterinary Centre. Wendy Furness partner at Scarsdale Veterinary Group, of which Pride Veterinary Centre is a part, explains what she thinks about the award: “I would encourage practices to enter the VMA Annual Awards. It was a real sense of achievement for our team to collate the campaigns and have their work acknowledged. It also helps to highlight the important role of marketing within our profession.”
The Practice Marketing Award is free to enter online says Claire: “Entries are now open and submission is really easy to do. The deadline is 31st
December 2018, five weeks earlier than usual. The earlier closing date is to allow for the exciting changes we have made to our judging process, now in two stages, including a first round of online judging followed by a judging day in London. So there’s no time to delay, visit our website for more information and tips and start planning your entry today!” concludes Claire.
