Animalcare has set out plans to support its customers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company will cease practice visits by its field sales team with immediate effect in order to minimise the risk of spreading the virus to veterinary teams or their clients. It will, instead, increase the level of support it provides to practices via the telephone, email and, where possible, video calls.
Commenting on the announcement, Sarah Stokes, UK Head of Sales, said: “These are difficult and challenging times for all of us and, as a company, we feel our key responsibility is to safeguard the health of our customers and our own staff. For this reason, we have taken the decision now to suspend practice visits. We are fully committed to continue to provide the level of service and support the veterinary profession expects from us and we believe that, in taking this step now and redeploying our teams to work with our customers remotely, we can do just that.”
The company has also provided guidance to customers on the efficacy of its disinfection range, used as part of a hygiene routine, in treating similar types of virus, though it reminds them that no tests are yet available to specifically check the efficacy of any products against COVID-19.
