A message to our learning community After much consideration, we’ve made the decision to close the Improve Veterinary Practice platform on 13 January 2026. Improve Veterinary Practice was built to support vets and nurses at every stage of their career, and while this chapter is ending, a new one is starting at Improve Veterinary Education. Heather Taylor

Heather Taylor is a registered clinical animal behaviourist and animal training instructor with the Animal Behaviour & Training Council. She is also a certified separation anxiety pro under Julie Naismith and has a particular interest in the subject. Heather holds a Level 6 Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour and is a full member of both the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors and PACT. Heather is based in Wiltshire where she works as a behaviourist and trainer. Her specialisms lie in remote separation anxiety and puppy training.
