Liz Bode

Liz Bode, BVSc, PhD, DipECVIM-CA (cardiology), FHEA, FRCVS, graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2006. She went on to work in mixed practice before undertaking a rotating internship at the Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital, Cambridge. She then started a PhD at the University of Manchester examining changes to excitation-contraction coupling in ageing and heart failure. After being awarded her doctorate in 2014, Liz started a residency in cardiology at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. Following completion of her residency, she was awarded her diploma from the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – Cardiology and became a senior lecturer at the University of Liverpool. In 2019, she co-founded the Veterinary Thought Exchange, a CPD company aiming to offer vets and nurses more personalised CPD opportunities. She joined ChesterGates Veterinary Specialists in 2020, where she works as a specialist in cardiology and a clinical director.
