A message to our learning community After much consideration, we’ve made the decision to close the Improve Veterinary Practice platform on 13 January 2026. Improve Veterinary Practice was built to support vets and nurses at every stage of their career, and while this chapter is ending, a new one is starting at Improve Veterinary Education. Tabitha Hookey

Tabitha Hookey obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Prince Edward Island’s Atlantic Veterinary College in Canada. Upon graduation, she practiced as a small animal veterinarian in Canada. In 2018, Tabitha completed a small animal clinical nutrition residency training program at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, United States. In 2019, Tabitha joined Royal Canin in global research and development division in France and is currently working in their health platform team. She was granted Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Nutrition) in 2022.
