A message to our learning community After much consideration, we’ve made the decision to close the Improve Veterinary Practice platform on 13 January 2026. Improve Veterinary Practice was built to support vets and nurses at every stage of their career, and while this chapter is ending, a new one is starting at Improve Veterinary Education. Samantha Lympany-Tier

Samantha “Sam” Lympany-Tier, MSc, works as an education and development officer and pet behaviour counsellor at a busy referral practice, specialising in feline behaviour and developmental coaching. She regularly supports her colleagues in advocating for their patients’ well-being, and ties in her background in public engagement to share her passion with professionals and clients alike. Sam is also a provisional member* of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC).

*Provisional members having gained the relevant academic qualifications are gaining the practical experience necessary to become a clinical animal behaviourist or animal behaviour technician and therefore a full member of the APBC. The APBC’s supports its provisional members undertaking behaviour consultations.
