A message to our learning community After much consideration, we’ve made the decision to close the Improve Veterinary Practice platform on 13 January 2026. Improve Veterinary Practice was built to support vets and nurses at every stage of their career, and while this chapter is ending, a new one is starting at Improve Veterinary Education. Rosie Bescoby

Rosie Bescoby has a degree in zoology and psychology and a postgraduate diploma in companion animal behaviour counselling. She is an ASAB Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist and a full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC). Rosie volunteers as a press and media officer for the APBC committee, is a member of the Professional Association of Canine Trainers and is registered as an Animal Training Instructor and Clinical Animal Behaviourist with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC). Rosie has recently contributed a chapter on “Teaching” to the textbook Canine Behaviour in Mind.
