A message to our learning community After much consideration, we’ve made the decision to close the Improve Veterinary Practice platform on 13 January 2026. Improve Veterinary Practice was built to support vets and nurses at every stage of their career, and while this chapter is ending, a new one is starting at Improve Veterinary Education. Elia Esquivel

Elia Esquivel, MRCVS, graduated from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2018 and has been working with exotics ever since. As an undergraduate she volunteered in a wildlife centre and a renowned exotic animal hospital where she gained her first working experience in 2019. Elia moved to the UK to complete the internship program at Great Western Exotic Referrals in 2023. Currently, she is enrolled on the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon’s advanced practitioner certificate in zoological medicine through Edinburgh University.
