Birte L Nielsen

Dr Birte Nielsen is the Humane Slaughter Association (HSA)’s research director. During the past three decades, she has worked with a variety of different species, carrying out research in basic and applied ethology and animal welfare. Birte has been a member of various expert panels and working groups and is currently an external advisor for the Lifting Farm Animal Lives (LIFT) Cost Action and the Animal Welfare Indicators at the Slaughterhouse (aWISH) EU project.
