A move aimed at greatly improving outcomes in veterinary patients is being unveiled by Darvall at the London Vet Show. Called the Darvall Express, it is the latest addition to the company’s range of cutting-edge anaesthetic monitoring equipment and will debut on stand D05 at the ExCel Centre, on the 17 and 18 November 2022.
Anaesthesia is a routine part of today’s modern veterinary practice, with patient safety at the heart of any procedure, commented Darvall founder Dr Colin Dunlop.
“Anaesthetic monitoring plays a vital role in keeping patients safe, giving peace of mind to the hospital veterinary team, and boosting pet owner confidence in the care their pet is receiving,” said Colin. “This is vitally important when you remember mortality in veterinary patients is many times higher than in human hospital practice.”
The Darvall Express allows practitioners to begin monitoring patients at the critical start of anaesthesia and incorporates high-tech instrumentation with easy-to-use features such as simple push-button operation.
The heart of the Darvall Express anaesthetic monitoring equipment is a rugged transport monitor designed to automatically commence operation by simply pushing the power button and connecting two sensors.
The detailed specification includes a quick start button and default system set-up for cats and small dogs, together with an easy-to-read colour-coded display and offering a ten-hour battery life.
The monitor has been thoroughly tested at veterinary practices in Australia, where it displayed outstanding performance in small dogs and cats, which are notoriously difficult to get reliable readings.
The Darvall H100N Pulse Oximeter is a convenient, reliable pulse oximetry for use throughout the veterinary hospital.
Embedded with world-leading Nellcor OxiMax pulse oximetry technology, this state-of-the-art handheld pulse oximetry monitor is ideal for use throughout the practice.
The veterinary blood pressure NIBP small animal cuffs are designed for accurate pressure detection in exotic animals, cats and all sizes of dog.
Wide Velcro tabs provide secure conformation to the limb, with resilient but tactile silicon for reliable accurate signal transduction and validated pressure detection, including in conscious animals.
Completing the Darvall Express anaesthetic monitoring equipment is the Darvall Capnograph which continuously measures the EtCO2 and respiratory rate and features EtCO2 waveform cardiac oscillation artifact detection, for correct respiratory rate determination.
