RCVS awards full accreditation to VetSkill

The Royal College Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) has granted full accreditation to VetSkill’s Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing qualification

After several years of hard work and considerable investment Vet Skill Ltd are delighted to announce that the Royal College Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) has granted full accreditation to VetSkill’s Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing qualification.

VetSkill enrolled students who achieve their qualification are now eligible to apply directly to the RCVS for registration as veterinary nurses without the potential requirement of having to also be double assessed by RCVS.

CEO and Chairman of Vet Skill, Greg Warman, said: “This status is hugely important to both our students and their centres training them and is recognition that our qualification has met all of the RCVS standards required.”

“I would particularly like to thank all the centres that joined us on the journey that led to full accreditation, without your support we could not have achieved this challenging milestone,” he added.

The RCVS Education Committee considering the qualification wrote that they were “impressed with the innovative approach to the design, development and delivery of the theory and practical assessments”.

Sam Double, VetSkill’s programme manager said: “I couldn’t be prouder of the VetSkill team, who have worked tirelessly to get the programme to full accreditation status. VetSkill has a passionate and dedicated assessor, examiner and EQA team whose contribution to this process, has been instrumental to this outcome.

“I would also like to thank the RCVS qualifications and examinations team as well as the Veterinary Nursing Education Committee for their support during this exacting process.”

VetSkill currently has over 30 centres delivering the Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing, and through its recognition agreement with City & Guilds has also provided over 700 City & Guilds registered students with access to the VetSkill OSCE’s.

Based in Godmanchester, near Cambridge, VetSkill is an awarding organisation and end point assessment organisation offering a range of qualifications and end point assessment for apprenticeships regulated by Ofqual, IfATE and CCEA to a variety of centres and training providers across the UK. It is also approved to operate a register for Suitably Qualified Person’s (SQP).
