Ceva Animal Health, manufacturer of the DOUXO S3 skincare range, is hosting two free CPD series – the Dermatology Extravaganza and Nurses and Dermatology – the Bite Sized Guide to Getting Started – to update veterinary professionals on their dermatology knowledge.
The Dermatology Extravaganza is a trilogy of CPD sessions presented by Dr Tim Nuttall, RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology and Head of Dermatology at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh and Dr Sarah Heath, RCVS and European Veterinary Specialist in Behavioural Medicine. The three bespoke sessions, which are between 30 minutes and an hour in length, are aimed at vets but may also be of interest to veterinary nurses and they cover: “Topical therapy in canine atopic dermatitis” and “Antimicrobial resistance” presented by Dr Tim Nuttall and “Emotional considerations in dealing with dermatology cases” by Dr Sarah Heath.
Specifically aimed at vet nurses who want to know more about dermatology and how they can play a role in dermatology cases, the Nurses and Dermatology – the Bite Sized Guide to Getting Started series is presented by Frances Gaudiano, the renowned RVN who wrote “Veterinary Dermatology: A Manual for Nurses and Technicians”. Accounting for two hours’ CPD, the series is split into four 30 minute webinars covering: how nurses can play a key role in dermatology cases; top tips on how to set up nurse dermatology clinics; top tips on the samples nurses can take in order to help in the diagnostic process (bloods, skin scrapes, swabs, tape impressions) and some case examples giving VNs a more practical experience of what their nurse clinic could involve. Ceva Animal Health also includes further training on new scientific advances in its DOUXO S3 range.
Pre-register for Ceva’s Dermatology Extravaganza and for Nurses and Dermatology – the Bite Sized Guide to Getting Started series online.
