Vetlexicon is the world’s largest online clinical reference resource, providing regularly updated, comprehensive and peer-reviewed information for the treatment of dogs, cats, rabbits, exotics, horses and cattle. Written by over 1,000 key opinion leaders in the veterinary industry, IVC will benefit from Vetlexicon’s definitive, instant and structured information at the key point of care.
The extensive five-year deal will see Vetlexicon Canis and Felis automatically rolled out across the practices, with additional Vetlexicon Exotis, Lapis, Equis and Bovis services available according to the practices’ needs.
Since establishing in 2011, IVC has grown to over 800 practices in the UK and Ireland, covering small animal, farm animal and equine veterinary care; it now includes the VetsNow group which will also benefit from access to Vetlexicon.
IVC’s Clinical Board recognise Vetlexicon as the answer to their clinical guideline needs in practice. Chairman, Alistair Cliff said “This resource will work to support and guide our group as it continues to increase in size and will evolve with the ever-changing needs of the profession.”
Paul Cowling, CEO for IVC in the UK and Ireland, says of the partnership “IVC needed a clinical resource that is easily accessible and current, providing practical, evidence-based advice to assist clinicians without risking the clinical autonomy of practices. Vetlexicon meets these needs and we look forward to improving our support to practices with this excellent resource. We are proud to provide the highest levels of support via IVC practices in the UK and Ireland.”
Vetstream is also an official Association Partner of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, British Equine Veterinary Association and South African Equine Veterinary Association, as well as Media Partner of the American Association of Equine Practitioners. Alongside this, they are Educational and Communications Partner of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association, providing veterinary expert education to benefit vets, their clients and their livestock, equidae and companion animals.
Vetstream’s Managing Director, Mark Johnston says, “We are delighted to be able to support IVC’s practices by having all the clinical information necessary when they have an immediate clinical need via IP authentication for vets and veterinary nurses when they are in the practice, or via username and password so that they can also access Vetlexicon wherever else they are. Our Vetlexicon services are available via any internet enabled device and will assist IVC’s clinical teams for all their clinical cases and will support the all-important communications with clients”.
