Street Paws with support of RCVS Mind Matters are hosting a Free 6 hour CPD Mental Health for Outreach Volunteers at School of Veterinary Science and Medicine Nottingham University. The full day CPD will run on Saturday 8 June 2019 from 9.30-17.00 and is open to everyone who volunteers across the UK. Vets and RVN’s who work with the most vulnerable in our society also need to take care of themselves. Learn how to work with vulnerable individuals and promote vital self care.
All veterinary professionals who support in the UK are invited across all charities so there will also be an opportunity to come together, share good practice and learn from each other.
Trevor Bell an industry recognised Mental Health trainer will be giving his time free to support the profession and the day has been kindly sponsored by the RCVS.
Mental Health is often instrumental in people’s stories on the streets. We will learn to recognise mental health issues and how best to support both ourselves and our clients
Michelle Southern Street Paws Founder said “I’ve been working for some time to pull together this vital training to support all veterinary professionals who support the homeless and vulnerable. I cannot thank the RCVS and Trevor enough for recognising the vital need for this training in the profession, and helping me to deliver it. It will be lovely for everyone to come together on the day to learn how to care for ourselves.”
